We’re Over $984 Million with 8 Months to Go!
As of April 30, 2012, the total of The Campaign for Syracuse University stands at $984,900,843, with nearly 50% of the total coming from alumni. We could not have achieved this milestone without them—as well as the SU parents, friends, faculty, staff, students, corporations, and foundations who, with their support, have shown their commitment to our vision of Scholarship in Action. Over the past year, the campaign has relied heavily on SU’s alumni networks in some of the country’s larger metro areas. Successful regional campaigns in Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., helped make 2010-11 the University’s second largest fundraising year, adding $130 million was added to the campaign total. Currently, regional efforts are underway in New York City, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
We can all be proud of how much has been accomplished, especially with the challenging economic climate of the past four years. We can’t lose sight of the fact, however, that there is still much to be done. To reach our $1 billion goal by the end of 2012, we still need to raise more than $15 million.
